About the CD
Meet Me in the Music has been nominated for "Best Traditional Album" at the a Canadian Folk Music Awards taking place December 1st, 2007 in Quebec, Canada.
To get at the deeper levels of meaning in this old music you have to go there, physically and spiritually, and stay long enough to grow familiar with the terrain and learn the language of the old folks and help with the chores and get invited to stay a while. Because Erynn and Chris have taken the time to get to know their territory (and be known in turn) they are not just speaking the language, they've got the dialect right. The result is a great selection of fiddle and banjo music, both traditional tunes from a relatively small area (the overlap of east Kentucky and the western Virginias ) and original tunes inspired by the same. Fiddle & banjo never sounded better since the Hatton Brothers.
